GIOVANNI LEONARDO BASSAN, KATHMANDOU, NEPAL 2014
Giovanni Leonardo Bassan is an Italian artist; talented and big-promised. He currently lives and works in Paris, close to his mentors Rick Owens and Michele Lamy. Last December Giovanni’s debut exhibition “Martyrdom” was presented in Dubai. From June till the end of August the Gallery THE MINE is presenting his second solo show, under the title “Everything distracts me”.
The title is a quote of Patti Smith from “Just kids”: everything distracted me, but most of all myself. Inspired by a two-month visit to a new metropolis, he worked between hotel rooms, lounges and apartments, sketching on loose pieces of paper, notebooks and work documents.
He is a real nomas, someone with a traveler’s soul, and we present exclusively one of his paintings in Nomas magazine issue #5 #Transit.
